An ex East Ballarat potato farmer and a tough and uncompromising full-back. He went to the Saints as a forward but was in defence after a couple of games. He won a place in the Victorian team in 1987 and was an All-Australian player the following year. He was appointed St. Kilda's captain in 1987 and proved to be a fine skipper, leading the club into the finals for the first time in 18 years in 1991. He won St. Kilda's Best and Fairest award in 1988 and represented Victoria 11 times. He was St. Kilda's longest serving captain and was regarded as one of the games best leaders. He led the Saints in 177 games. After a stint at Collingwood, Frawley was appointed coach of the Richmond Football Club. The Tigers have gained a reputation for turning over coaches in quick succession, but Frawley appears set to be there for the long haul having lifted the club from mediocrity to a preliminary final in just two years. The former champion St Kilda full-back and longtime skipper has maintained the club's trademark passion while instituting an exciting brand of footy that has reignited the passion of the Tiger hordes.
